Title: Regional Sales Engineer, S. America      

Department: Minerals Processing

Position Summary:

Provide business development, marketing, sales and technical support for customers in South and Central America, in coordination with CiDRA corporate office in USA and regional independent sales representatives. A USA based position with preferred residence in Connecticut.

Experience:

Candidate should have a solid, two years experience as a field service technician installing and servicing electromechanical equipment and systems, and two years experience in a related marketing and sales position. Experience working in a process industry, particularly with flowmeters and/or in the mining industry is highly desirable.

Education/Skills: 

  • Associates Degree (electrical or mechanical) from a technical school required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Candidate must be bilingual (English – Spanish), with knowledge of Portuguese highly desirable.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills in English or Spanish, good skills in other language.
  • Must be proficient with a computer and software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to explain technical issues regarding CiDRA products to an audience of varied degree of understanding regarding SONARtrac products.
  • Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills. Broad knowledge of fluid mechanics and flow measurement principles.
  • Must have he ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • In close coordination with CiDRA headquarters and local independent sales reps, perform marketing, sales, and installation/service activities to customers primarily in the mining industry.
  • Attend regional trade shows to exhibit CiDRA products.
  • Set and achieve sales goals in coordination with CiDRA and reps.
  • Maintain technical expertise in assigned areas of specialty. (e.g. mining, oil sands & extraction processes).
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of local industries.
  • Maintain higher-level expertise for CiDRA products and their application in the markets/industries that we serve.
  • Provide periodic written marketing, sales and service reports.
  • Achieve prompt, mutually satisfactory solutions to customer complaints and problems.
  • Individual must be a self-starter with ability to plan, organize and execute.
  • Individual must posses excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Individual must be able to travel 50% to 75% of the time.
  • Primary travel will be in South America (Chile, Peru, Argentina), with some travel to northern South America (Venezuela) and Mexico.
